About Me, Kelly Meehan
IHP, MBCE, OD, FAAO
Integrative Health Practitioner & Certified Health Coach
I am a wife and busy mom of 3, with a passion for helping families find and learn how to achieve optimal wellness through an integrative approach. I have fancy letters after my name and they have all given me foundational knowledge that is invaluable to leading me here, but they are not what makes me special. It is my own family’s experiences that the Lord put in my path that lit the fire in me to help others to regain their health and then learn to balance it while juggling all the hats we wear as professionals, parents, spouses, chefs, taxi drivers and so many more.
My Story…
4 years ago my 4 year old at the time began having migraines, stomach aches, and erratic behavior. She would ride her bike 100 feet and cry that her legs hurt. I kept being told her growing pains and stomach aches were common for kids and not to worry about it. She was not eating, losing weight, could not focus on anything, and extremely emotional to name only a few symptoms. Trusting mothers intuition, and pushing for answers we got to the bottom of her diagnosis of celiac disease. What felt overwhelming at the time and such a hurdle, lead to a complete change in our lifestyle and a wealth of knowledge for our family regarding gut health, diet and nutrition. A topic I thought I already had a good handle on, but turns out it was only the tip of the iceberg. I always say her diagnosis was a blessing in disguise as I was able to find the root cause of my own autoimmune conditions, find answers for my other daughter and it began our path to healing.
For years I struggled with a variety of symptoms I believed were “normal” and then after my kids were born things really got crazy. For almost a year I had countless doctor appointments, scans, scopes ending in “all looks good”, meanwhile I was basically stuck in bed and lived in the bathroom. I was given medications to treat my symptoms but treating symptoms was not enough for me. I needed to know why I had them. It wasn’t until I began uncovering the “why” they were occurring that I began to realize I didn’t have to live with them. If I was committed to doing the work there was a way out.
Society has created a picture that it is normal for young parents to be continually stressed out, exhausted, irritable, and to experience poor sleep. Sadly, autoimmune conditions have even become mainstream and the norm. Conventionally, we treat the symptoms but lack to study the imbalances that have led us there. I am here to tell you it is not and genetics do not dictate your life, they are what is expressed when the imbalances occur. If you experience any of the above it is a sign your body is out of balance. I would love to help you and your children break this cycle so you can enjoy life and have the energy to enjoy your family to its fullest.
I have been given experiences in my life that were obstacles but were no mistake as they have all led me to be here. If any of the above resonates with you, you are ready to make a change for the better, and dig your way out to a happier, healthier lifestyle for you and your family, let’s chat.
